FRESH AIR
What
I'm about to tell you is true. At least
the person who told me claimed it so. My good friend (who shall be named ‘Tim’
for the sake of privacy) went through this terrible ordeal a few years ago. It
shakes me to my core as a human being, so I'll try to tell it the best I can.
After
the disappearance of Tim's wife, he moved into a new home, actually an older
style home. His wife vanished without any trace, and the police to this day
still have no leads. Tim took it pretty
hard, so he moved into an older place and decided to fix it up; a sort of
project to keep him from doing something else stupid (if you know what I mean).
Anyway, he told me about this window in a spare bedroom. It was nailed, not
chained shut I think he said. According
to the real estate agent, it was always like that, and the previous owner
stated that it was to remain this way and Tim never though anything of it since
he wasn't going to use the room much.
About
after a week of living there and fixing up the place, the room started to get “really stuffy”, as he
put it. Hot and dry. He started to see the figure out the window,
in the distance. A black outline, neither
female nor male, just an outline and for one week straight, it got closer and
closer.
But
here is the real kicker. He told me on about the third day, he noticed that as
he looked through, a different window facing the same part of the yard, there
was NO FIGURE. Every time he looked
through that chained window, he saw it.
This went on for days, until one day it was
right up against the glass.
Tim
said he was terrified. He felt like his own mind was being consumed by having
to find out what this figure was. The last day of all of this, he said the
figure was in clear form and definition.
It
was his wife...and not his wife. She had an ear to ear; wild grin...”kind of
like when Jack played the Joker” is how he put it. “She was holding a Dagger” as well...or so he
said...I think he said it was some ancient evil looking thing.
Five
more days, and ‘his wife’ was still the same...the same wild grin, the same dagger.
He couldn’t take it anymore and was going to open that window. He told me he
felt as if he “had to”. With crow bar in hand, he busted the chains and threw
open the window. It was not until he did so, that he realized she was gone.
Now
I don’t know what happened next, but he claims he turned around and went to his
room. His wife or “the thing that looked
like her” was lying in his bed. He swears up and down he saw his body next to
her. Bloody and cut up. She was just sitting upright holding the dagger,
smiling.
He
told me he ran out (of course he did). He
now resides in Rainbow River Home. Yes, a crazy place.
So,
do what you will with this story. Tim was always a little *off* since his
wife's disappearance, so this might have been a smaller part of a bigger melt
down, but you see....I 'm not sure. I have the keys to his house as he left me
to take care of it. Actually, I fudged the
paperwork a little.
I
lost my son a few years ago in a car wreck.
I
just have to see what is beyond that window.
It's
getting hot and stuffy in that room right now....I don't see anything outside
yet...but I hear noises... like a kid mumbling...I think I may have to open
this window for some fresh air.
